Remember last weekend when I hit up the farmers market? I bought a ton of sweet white corn for a BBQ. I am not sure why it took me until now to learn this trick - but it's simply amazing! I had a girlfriend from Missouri staying with me last weekend and she told me how her family makes corn on the cob with no shucking and no silk in your teeth! SO EASY. To start, microwave corn in husk- 4 minutes per ear. No water needed. (I have done this with the corn in a pyrex and also just simply laying au natural on the microwave base/plate - both worked well.) Cut off base of corn right near where it would attach to the stalk. Squeeze the ear of corn out of the stalk. You might want to grab a kitchen towel or hot pad if you (like me) are too impatient to wait for the corn to cool down. Keep squeezing. and... voila! now, you have corn on the cob! So easy. No shucking. No silk. Simply delicious. Thanks, Justin, for taking pics along the way! CommentsLisa 07/03/2012 10:30am
Do you have to do just one ear at a time in the microwave? Amanda 07/05/2012 1:37pm
If you do 4 ears at a time, do you have to do 4 mins each ear for a total of 16 mins or just 4 mins for all of them? Leave a Reply |
