Sunday night, I swooped into the Hilton McLean in Tysons to hang out with Elite Yelpers and specially chosen guests for the super swanky Yelp Fire and Ice Ball. The event raised money for the SPCA and offered tons of freebies, great bites, and non-stop entertainment. Some of my favorite local spots participated, including Ruth's Chris, Harth, True Food Kitchen at Mosaic District, and Chasin' Tails. Gretchen threw a great event - and you can follow all the fun by checking out #YELPfireiceball on Instagram.
I flew in Sunday afternoon from St. Louis and even though my flight was quite delayed -- I headed straight to the waterfront to spend the gorgeous day with my sweet B. Climbing the rocks and hanging out on the dock is one of his favorite things to do - and I just love this picture of us and how sweet he is holding my fingers. I'm the luckiest!
I went to an 8am breakfast with the Washington Business Journal.... and when it was over I stayed and mingled with a few guests at the bar. Never too early for a spicy Bloody Mary @FoundingFarmers! #FFtysons
My BFF from college, Anne, is getting married! She hosted her Bachelorette weekend her hometown of St. Louis - so I flew in for a super quick weekend jam-packed with rooftop bars, casino pit stops, and a fancy little winery tour. We had the best time together and I am so excited for the gorgeous bride. LOVE YOU ANNE! xo
I went to the Washington Auto Show a few weeks ago as a guest of GM and got a chance to preview the new vehicles coming out in 2015. Because just seeing these vehicles in the convention center isn't the best way to get to know them, I was offered a chance to take home a GMC Canyon for a week. Can't turn that down during the winter blast that we were getting!
I never really pictured myself as a pick up truck kind of girl, but I really liked the ride - and all the looks I got while I was behind the wheel! This bad boy was a beast in the snow - and the interior didn't lack any of the luxuries that I'm used to. There was plenty of room in the back seats for B and his snow boots. Also, I'm addicted to the remote start in my Chevy Tahoe (perfect for drop off at 7:30am SACC) - and the GMC Canyon came with that option as well.
Thanks to GM and Drive the District for hooking me up!

Tuesday night I was invited to the "Unveiling" of the new ballrooms at the Hyatt Fairfax at Fair Lakes. I LOVE the team over at the Hyatt -- they are so great to work with for all of my Girls Night Out events.
They put on a fabulous party with gorgeous lighting, Mark making custom drinks at the bar, a photobooth, and of course, delicious food. Check out the pics below!
We'll be back at the Hyatt next Friday for our BLOGIVERSARY event to benefit Autism Speaks! (AND, it's my birthday!) Don't forget to RSVP!
We had a wonderful time on Thursday night at our Girls Night Out & Meet Up at Hyatt Fairfax in Fair Lakes! Check the pictures below -- and you can see the full album on our Facebook page. Be sure to tag yourselves and go ahead and RSVP for our next upcoming events! We have a book club meet up at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner and also our annual charity event in November -- this year benefitting Autism Speaks.
Yesterday, I was invited to be on a "Sip and Share" panel at A Baby Affair at The Hill Center in DC. I was a guest - and the moderator (I kinda felt like Whoopi Goldberg on The View) - alongside Elizabeth Thorp, founder of Poshbrood and Editor in Chief of Capitol File Magazine, Danni Star, co-host of The Kane Show on Hot 99.5, and Nikki Johnson, founder and blogger of Super NOVA mom.
We had fun talking about being moms, living the busy DC area lifestyle, and sharing our favorite local resources and date night hot spots.
It was great to connect with other local moms in the audience and hear their questions too... ciao until next year! xo
my name is Andrea and I'm a not-so-average Northern Virginia blogger, mom, and transplant from the Midwest. I host Girls Night Out events, meet ups, and write about events and my adventures in the DC area. I love to travel, brunch, and drink wine with my neighbors! I'm known to live on the wild side and order Venti iced doubleshots at 5pm.
